This fine cantata was written for Ascension 1729 and is scored for SATB, two oboes, strings and continuo. Following a two-part chorus come a Soprano aria, a secco recitative for the lower three voices, an aria for Alto, an accompanied recitative in which all four voices sing the last three bars together, and finally a chorale.
