Fasch's psalm settings were almost certainly composed for the Dresden court's Catholic Chapel, and (from the scorings of the surviving works) seem to have been conceived as cycles.
Laetatus sum is cast as a single movement, and scored for Soprano and Bass voices with strings and continuo.
