GEI003 Alleluja. De funere ad vitam~

Edited and typeset by Brian Clark

This Easter motet is scored for solo Alto, violin and continuo and dates from 1672. In setting a text full of imagery of the resurrection and Christ as the bread of life, Geist uses dramatically different textures, matching the voice and the violin in equal virtuosity.

Our performing set consists of two scores and the necessary instrumental parts. A realisation of the continuo part can be supplied within a few days on request.
