*Symphonia in D*, FWV M: D1~Edited by Brian Clark.
This three-movement
symphonia is one of a set of six the composer dedicated to the
Jaeger de Jaegersberg, an oblique reference to the Duke of Darmstadt, where Fasch had spent some of his post-university days studying with Graupner. The Duke was fond of both hunting and the modern symphony, especially on his birthday. We can imagine that Fasch might have been trying to gain employment at Darmstadt by dedicating a set of six such works to him - but he was unsuccessful, as in all his other attempts to escape the strict control at Zerbst!
Performing set: Score and a set of single parts. Extra parts are available.
