La Fenice~Carlo Agosinto Badia (1672-1738) was one of the court composers in Vienna for 44 years from 1693. This cantata, written for Countess Sousin, one of the court ladies, consists of four recitative-aria pairs, the outer arias for soprano, two recorders and two violins, and continuo, while the middle pair are accompanied by solo recorder and violin respectively.
