Veni Sancte Spiritus~This setting of an antiphon for Whitsun based on a 9th-century prayer is scored for Alto, Tenor and Bass with two flauti (most likely recorders), two violins and continuo. The composer, Sigismund Ranisius, was a self-confessed amateur who lived during the 17th century. The piece was published by the anthologist Profe in 1649.
