Overture No. 6 in G minor~Edited by Brian Clark.
The last of the six is exceptionally fine. There are four movements: following the striking opening Allegro with its swooping triplet arpeggios comes a Largo, then a second Allegro (full of staccato markings and every bit as sinister as the first) and then comes a minuet in which everyone plays in unison (the oboes are omitted in alternate bars of the opening phrase!) - altogether something of an enigma.
Performing set: Score and a set of single parts. Extra parts are available.
