O quam suavis~Although he is possibly better known today for his work in the opera house, Francesco Cavalli was one of mid-17th-century Venice's leading composers of church music. This solo motet for soprano and continuo has been edited by Dennis Collins from a 1645 anthology of such pieces "by various most excellent authors".
