Sonata in B flat, H.584 / W.158~A lengthy three movement work, this sonata for two violins and continuo makes use of the full expressive possibilities of all the instruments involved. The two outer movements are lively and mostly jolly, but they are separated by a melancholy and often poignant Largo of which even Schumann would have been proud.
