| Christoph Nichelmann | A pupil of the Thomasschule in Leipzig, where he met and possibly had lessons with J. S. Bach, Nichelmann also spent some time in Hamburg, working at the opera houses. He settled in Berlin, where he worked with C. P. E. Bach, and, amongst other things, contributed to the development of the piano concerto.
