Johann Samuel Endler
Johann Samuel Endler was active at the court of Hessen-Darmstadt, as assistant to Christoph Graupner and then as Kapellmeister himself. His surviving output includes a series of sinfonias (the Darmstadt dukes were especially fond of the genre, particularly in their hunting lodges!), which Kim Patrick Clow plans to publish.
END001 Sinfonia in D
Edited by Kim Patrick Clow.
This is a curious work, scores for trumpets and drums, horns, oboe and strings. After a romping Allegro assai come a pair of minuets, an Andante for strings only (Violin 1 muted, everyone else pizzicato), a lengthy tutti with solos for oboe and violin, a pair of polonaises, and finally a pair of Allegro assai movements. The style of music spans the baroque and early classical styles.
Performing set: Score, set of single parts. Extra string parts available.

END002 Sinfonia in D
Edited by Kim Patrick Clow.
This is another rather curious work, scores for trumpets and drums, horns, oboe and strings. Unusual because the orchestration changes, with solos for oboe and violin (so Endler assumed at least more than one Violin 1, so possibly multiple players), a pair of Horns in A and some interesting colouristic effects - oboe with violin a 6th above accompanied by pizzicato lower strings, for example.
Performing set: Score, set of single parts. Extra string parts available.

END005 Sinfonia in D
Edited by Kim Patrick Clow.
Scored for two trumpets and timpani, two flutes, two violins and bass, this work has six movements. The flutes only play in the second (appropriately named "Dolce". After that come a suitably martial Marche, then sequence of coupled dances (Menuets, Bourees and Schwab (some sort of Swabian folk dance in 3/8 time).
Performing set: Score, set of single parts. Extra string parts available.

END015 Sinfonia in F
Edited by Kim Patrick Clow.
This extended sinfonia is score for two Trumpets in F, five timpani (FGABC), two Flutes (notated in D, but sounding in F - though the original notation makes it clear that these are NOT recorders!), strings and continuo. There are some interesting timbral effects - the two flutes accompanied by timpani, for example, which reveal Endler's ear for colour.
Performing set: Score, set of single parts. Extra string parts available.
