Not much is known about this composer from Ancona. His five-voice setting of texts for Compline was printed at Venice in 1605 and the motets listed below come from a massive collection in three volumes by the director of music at St Martin's in Rottenburg in Germany, Johann Donfried. Having worked for a time in Padua, Finetti was appointed maestro at Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice where it is supposed that he was among the composers whose lives were claimed by the plague of 1630-31. That he was a well-respected musicians is beyond question: the Croatian composer Lukačić dedicated his 1620 "Sacrae cantiones", and in 1629 Dario Castello dedicated his "Sonate concertate in stil moderno" to gim.
