At various points during the church year, services at the court of Anhalt-Zerbst (where Fasch was Kapellmeister from 1722 unti his death in 1758) required a Mass setting (just the Kyrie and Gloria portions) in German. This volume presents the work as transmitted in a Fasch autograph score and with a shorter alternative Kyrie setting that seems to have been the work of his organist from 1737, Johann George Roellig.
