  • Description

According to the manuscript copy now in the University of Uppslaa Library, Joseph Martin Kraus's setting of the Requiem was written in Vienna. It is a sequence of arias and choruses, mostly pious, reflective and humble, though with occasional moments of great energy and fire. There are solo movements for Soprano and Alto (including the Benedictus, which is a duet for both).

Edited by Hans-Heinrich Kriegel.
