Sonata a5 in C, G4
The violins dominate the texture and the main focus is on Pohle's melodic writing and his quirky harmony. Although there is some imitation between the violins (and between the violas' accompanying figures), this has the feel of a dance suite, with each of the short, basically homophonic sections being repeated.
Edited by Brian Clark.
12pp.
Scoring: 2 violins, 2 violas, bassoon, continuo.
This sonata is attributed in other sources to Antonion Bertali and Johann Heinrich Schmelzer.
