Continuo lachrimas (VAE002)

  • Description

Although the precise relationship between Vaet and Clemens remains unclear, the death of the latter inspired this beautiful lament, whose text (perhaps by Vaet himself) plays on the meaning in Latin of Clemens's name. The polyphony is well worthy of the master, with the Requiem plainsong (in the Bass 1 part)
woven effortlessly into the texture. It lasts about three and a half minutes.
