This cantata was first performed on the 5th Sunday after Trinity, 1736. Slightly unusually, this piece opens with an aria for bass. A second aria (for alto) follows the ensuing accompanied recitative, before the morning music ends with a chorale. The second half opens with a tutti which is followed by another accompagnato, then an aria for soprano, and the cantata concludes with a second chorale.
