Better known as a music critic and historian, the Englishman Charles Burney was also an accomplished musician and a competent composer. This is the first of his Op. 1 trios, dedicated to the Rt. Hon. Earl of Holderness in 1748. It has four movements in the slow-fast-slow-fast da chiesa style.
